Student Recognition

 recog

St. Barbara Catholic School proudly recognizes the efforts and achievements of our students. Opportunities for recognition allow our students to model to their peers values of hard work, self-discipline, self-motivation, and responsibility. While these values are very important,

Student of the Month
Every month, each homeroom teacher recognizes a student who demonstrate Christian values along with consistently good class work and responsibility. These students are then invited to a lunch with the school principal. Their pictures are also posted in the lobby.

SHINING STAR AWARDS - Certificates are presented to our young learners in TK and Kindergarten for progress in academic fields and for responsible behavior.

Perpetual Plaques
Found in the school office lobby, the perpetual plaques honor graduating 8th Graders as Valedictorian and Salutatorian, Most Improved, Best Reader, and Athletes of the Year. The Faculty Award recognizes a student who best represents the Catholic Faith, service to others, and exemplifies the model student. The St. Barbara Award is a special recognition for a student who overcomes difficulties and adversity to reach his/her full potential.

Spelling and Math Bees
All students participate in the classroom preliminaries to choose the top 6 students from each grade level who will participate in the finals of the Spelling and Math Bees held in May. First place trophies and 2nd and 3rd place ribbons are awarded at the May Parents Association meeting.

Service Awards
End of year service awards are given to those students who model Christ and make a difference in this world through actions in their school, Church and community.

Attendance
Students who have no tardies or absences during the trimester and/or during the school year will be recognized with a Perfect Attendance certificate.

Sports Banquet
To recognize the time and dedication required to be a St. Barbara Celtic, a sports banquet is held in May. All student athletes receive certificates
of participation. Trophies are presented for teams that take first in league.
Coaches awards are also given to outstanding players who exemplify leadership skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Athlete of the Year is given to the top boy and girl athlete who maintains his/her grades and exemplifies quality traits throughout 7th and 8th grades.
